Week 6 OMEGA Game of the Week
9/26/2013 - by NKS Editor
This week’s OMEGA Processing Game of the Week features Boone County (0-5) vs. Dixie (3-1). Even though the Rebels are winless, they have a chance to make up for it as they begin District (6A) play. Boone County lost last week to Henry Clay 21-6.

On the other hand, Dixie comes into this game with 3 straight wins and a big win over NewCath last week 36-7. Junior QB Drew Moore leads the Dixie offense with 619 pass yards and 5 TD’s along with 320 rush yards and 4 TD’s. Since 2005, Dixie is only 1-8 against Boone County but the Colonels are definitely looking to change things around this weekend.

Holy Cross at Brossart (Thursday)
The football week starts with a Thursday night District 2A game at Scott HS. Holy Cross (0-4) is looking for their first win of the season against Brossart (2-2). The Mustangs are coming off a close loss to Ludlow last week 18-12. The Indians are 3-0 against Brossart and won last year 59-9. You can listen to the game online as well - Brossart Radio.

Cooper at Scott
This should be an interesting District 5A game to watch as Cooper (2-3) plays at Scott (5-0). All of Cooper’s losses have come to Class 6A schools and they’re better than their record might indicate. Cooper’s offense is led by QB William Ludwig who ranks 3rd in passing yards in NKY with 1,032 yards. Last week, Cooper lost to Simon Kenton 36-6.

This should be Scott’s first challenge of the season as they come into this game undefeated. The Eagles lead all teams in NKY in rushing with 1,676 yards. Josh Castleman leads the rushing attack with 543 yards and 10 TD’s (1st in NKY).

Highlands at CovCath (Saturday)
This is always a big game no matter what the records show. Highlands (5-0) will visit CovCath (3-1) on Saturday in an attempt to win their 10th straight game over the Colonels. The State Champion Bluebirds are coming off a tough win over Paducah Tilghman last week 42-25 while CovCath had a bye.

Highlands is led by Senior QB Drew Houliston who leads NKY in passing with 1,547 yards and an astounding 21 TD’s. Houliston has several talented receivers to throw to as Highlands has 8 receivers with over 100 yards so far this year.
